EDIT: Ryan called and clarified a few things, as well as spoke to a few things that were not on the report. Edits have been made to the review to reflect that, as well as clarify some points. I purchased a used vehicle and wanted them to check everything out. I called in the afternoon seeing if they could get me in soon; luckily they were able to get me in the next day, which was awesome. I've brought some of my other vehicles to them to see if they can find anything that needs replacing, even if I don't think something is wrong with them. My last 2 vehicles, they had good recommendations and found a hose/gasket leaking here and there, they found things that I missed so I had confidence in them finding things on this one. I greatly appreciate the pictures and detailed write ups/quotes, showing items that should be addressed and things that can be deferred so that they can be addressed in an order of importance. This time was the same, with a similar report. Not much to note on this one, other than a rear-end noise and pulsating brakes (which I knew about), and low coolant (which I did not notice, thank you). Everything else that was listed was due to 'based on mileage and or/maintenance' and are easy to cross-reference in the owners manual for their maintenance intervals (fluid changes, filters, etc). I recommend knowing the history of the vehicle (via CarFax/dealers/records) so that you can avoid doing something that has recently been done (for example, my rear differential/transmission/brake fluids have been done within 1500 miles at the dealership, but was in their recommendation). They also did a 4-wheel alignment, oil change, and a tire repair and rotation at the same time. They are over 1+hr away, so I have to be selective with where I go. In the end, with the clarification, I will be returning. Huge plus that they were able to get me in the next day, since I was going to be in town that day.

This is my favorite shop in all of Coeur D'Alene. I will only let the guys at Silverlake work on my vehicle. The service is really good, and the way they send all of the diagnostic information personally to me is even better. Emerson and Ryan are really great communicators. Keeping me posted on the service and letting me know how its going. I will continue to come to this shop for many years to come.

Ryan and the mechanics all went out of their way to do an excellent job and were very helpful. I would recommend to anyone looking for an honest shop to do automotive service, maintenance and repairs. They were very trustworthy and did everything for a reasonable price.

They do amazing work, fair prices, amazing customer service (Ryan was very helpful!) I got my car back very quickly :)

Fourth time using silver lake, very happy with them, this time it was a serious issue with my car and they explained everything well, I was unable to afford repairs, that didn’t create any problems with Silverlake and left on a positive note. Will use them for future repairs.

Silverlake got me in promptly and diagnosed my truck. They were very good at calling and communicating everything that was taking place and up front about costs. I had a tricky electrical issue that they found and fixed for a very reasonable fee. They gave the truck a full inspection and gave me a report of any other issues they noticed. I would return again.

I was traveling through town with an engine that was acting up. With my 3 year old in tow and stormy weather ahead I was very nervous. A moat friendly and caring staff (name Emerson maybe?) Ran diagnostics and identified the issue with no charge - he put my mind at ease that I could complete my travel without issue and get my car fixed in my hometown. I left some gifts of gratitude and will definitely return for any needs next time I'm in town! Honesty and integrity - the recipe for a great business!

I highly recommend Silverlake Auto! They are very helpful and professional and did quality work on my Forester. Emerson was great at explaining the needs of the vehicle and reasons. My car is running great now. I really appreciated their detailed report and pictures in their estimates. They were also very timely with completing the work. Their rewards program is also unique and very appreciated! I will continue to have my car serviced at downtown Silverlake for sure.
